What will be served exactly?
We can't tell you! Due to the fact that the dishes served at the Feast are not all commercially available, the exact menu will only be 100% final closer to the Feast. However, we guarantee that there will be courses served that are not available in restaurants or grocery stores.
What is the Kashrut of the dinner?
Shechitah and supervision are being performed by Rav Yonatan Gabbai of Moshav Maon. He is renowned for providing meat of the highest kashrut as well as quality standards. He was certified by Rav Shlomo Kassin, Rosh Yeshiva of the Shehebar Sephardic Center, and Rav Yehudah Giat, the personal shochet of Chief Rabbi of Israel HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu ztz”l.
With regard to the species being served, not all rabbinic authorities agree regarding their kashrut. For the 2024 feast, one particular item subject to dispute is swordfish. For extensive discussion, see our article about swordfish on our Knowledge Base.
Who will be the Chef of the Feast?
Chef Moshe Basson is internationally renowned as “Israel’s Biblical Chef.” He searches the Bible and the local countryside for clues to traditional dishes, which he re-creates. Together with his son Ronny Basson, he runs the celebrated Eucalyptus restaurant in the Artist’s Colony in Jerusalem. Chef Basson was knighted in Italy for his resurrection of Biblical cuisine.
